ChÂTEAU D’ALLAMAN

Since 1975, the Château d'Allaman, its annexes and the surrounding area have been classified as historic monuments and Swiss cultural assets of national importance.

Château d'Allaman, with its moat and drawbridge, was built in the 13th century during the Middle Ages. The castle is located in the village of Allaman, in the picturesque Swiss canton of Vaud, on an esplanade overlooking Lake Geneva.

Facing the blue waters of the lake and the panoramic Alps of Mont Blanc, the Château d'Allaman is an exceptional place. Its large medieval building stands out on the hillside and proudly overlooks its vines, which are ideally exposed to the sun.

The castle's rich history has been shaped by writers, composers, philosophers, royalty and world leaders. The famous writer George Sand found inspiration here. Voltaire never wanted to leave and wanted to buy the Château d'Allaman, but was unable to do so because of royal laws.
